Indulge with the Devil himself. These chewy, decadent, scary soft Devil’s Double Chocolate Cookies are so frightening delicious they’ll send shivers down your spine.
Ingredients
Makes ~14 cookies
½ cup softened unsalted butter
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ¼ cup unbleached all purpose flour
⅓ cup cocoa powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon baking powder
½ cup dark chocolate chunks
Frosting
½ cup powdered sugar
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk
Orange food coloring (mix red & yellow)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and beat until light and fluffy. Add flour, salt, cocoa powder, baking soda and powder slowly. Mix until combined. Fold in chocolate chunks and chill for at least 10 minutes.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper and scoop dough onto cookie sheet (approximately 1 heaping tablespoon). Add chocolate chunks on top (you can never have too much chocolate).
Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges start to dry. Remove from oven and place cookie sheet on a cooling rack.
For frosting, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until combined. Add food coloring to achieve desired color. Use a spoon to drizzle frosting over cookies (it’s okay to be messy, it’s the Devil’s cookie, remember?)
