California Avocado, Watermelon and Cantaloupe Salad

Celebrate California Avocado Month with a refreshing twist on fruit salad! This colorful Watermelon, Cantaloupe & California Avocado Salad is a must for your next summer gathering—sweet, creamy, and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 firm-ripe, Fresh California Avocados, seeded, peeled and cubed
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice, divided
  • 12 oz. cubed seedless watermelon
  • 12 oz. cubed cantaloupe
  • 1 Tbsp. honey, or more to taste
  • 1/4 tsp. chile lime seasoning or sea salt, optional
  • mint leaves for garnish, optional

Instructions

  • In a bowl, pour half the lemon juice over the avocado cubes and gently toss to coat all the cubes.
  • On a rectangular serving platter, arrange cubes of watermelon, cantaloupe and avocados in alternating rows.
  • Combine the honey and remaining lemon juice, then drizzle over the fruit.
  • Sprinkle with chile lime seasoning and mint leaves, if using, and serve.

Variations: Use mango in place of the cantaloupe or add honeydew or other melons.

Serving Suggestion: Top with minced cilantro or roasted pepitas if desired

Beverage Pairing: Moscato wine, Chardonnay or Rose

*Large avocados are recommended for this recipe. A large avocado averages about 8 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly.
